Because "it shouldn't stay in my house" and "it shouldn't go in a landfill" are both true — and the Gospel deserves the difference.
I'm a follower of Christ, and I never intended to start a ministry.
It began with a handful of items I felt convicted not to keep anymore, yet couldn't figure out the right way to part with. Some carried spiritual significance that no longer aligned with my faith. Others were reminders of seasons of life that had ended. One of those items was a small gold rooster that had sat on a shelf in my home for years.
The more I grew in my walk with the Lord, the more I felt called to remove certain things from my life. But I found myself wrestling with what to do next. Selling them for personal gain didn't seem right. Throwing away valuable items felt wasteful. And I couldn't find a faithful way to navigate that tension.
So Idol Wealth was born.
The idea is simple: release what shouldn't remain, destroy what ought to be destroyed, redeem what can be redeemed, and direct the proceeds toward the work of the Gospel. What began with a few personal items has become a way to help other believers do the same.
My hope is that Idol Wealth helps people obey God with a clear conscience, turn spiritual stumbling blocks into Kingdom resources, and experience the freedom that comes from letting go.

We are spirit-filled believers who hold that the Bible is the inspired Word of God; that salvation is by grace alone through faith in Jesus Christ alone; that believers are called to holiness in every area of life — including what we own; and that deliverance and freedom are part of the Gospel's work in a believer's life today. Idol Wealth launched as a private initiative so we could start serving people immediately, but the destination is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit with public financial reporting. Until that status is granted, we say plainly on every page: contributions are not yet tax-deductible, and our overhead fee is up to 20% of net proceeds — covering the real costs of secure handling, shipping, refining or selling items, administration, and pursuing 501(c)(3) status itself.
